SP 10: Disease-resistance of climate-adapted barley plants

Problem: This project will answer the question to what extent the resistance to local climate conditions of barley is coupled to a resistance against biotic pathogens. Beyond that it will be clarified whether the historic development in the courses of disease of barley plants can be explained by changes of weather or climate. The results of this project can be applied directly for the practical plant breeding in Bavaria in form of selective markers.
